LinkNYC Brand Manual

LinkNYC is a first-of-its-kind communications network that has replaced the aging payphones across the five boroughs of New York City with new structures called Links—which provide free, superfast internet in conjunction with relevant, contextual advertising. I was part of the team at Intersection, then Titan and Control Group, that helped win and bring the project to fruition—working on the initial RFP and ensuing product roll-out.

While I touched and led many aspects of LinkNYC’s branding, marketing and communications suite, I am most proud of the brand manual. I knew right away that LinkNYC had to look familiar to New Yorkers to gain their valuable trust. And what better way to achieve that than by drawing upon something that every New Yorker knows: Massimo Vignelli's ubiquitous subway signage.

LinkNYC has since become a beloved part of the city (mostly).
